Craig is an entrepreneur who has worked, written and presented extensively in the insurance and risk management industries across North America since 1989. In 2006 Craig founded ClearRisk, which created better web-based software solutions for the medium to large sized organizations, with customers throughout North America. In 2014, Craig founded Optimized Insurance Brokerage, based on a different service delivery model of differentiation through better risk and business knowledge.
In addition to his professional life, Craig is very active in the community as a Chair of YMCA Canada, Past Chair of the YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador, an active Rotarian, and a co-founder of The Big Raise exclusive charity poker event, which raises tens of thousands each year for NL charities. Craig’s board experience is extensive, having served on and/or chaired many of the risk and insurance associations provincially, nationally and internationally. His passion for working with Charities comes from an engrained need to give back and to help make the communities and the world we live in a better place. He brings extensive governance and risk management experience as well as a strong technology background to all of the boards he serves on.
Craig is currently finishing the Directors Education program of the Rotman School of Business for the ICD.D designation. Among his achievements is the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award for contributions to Canadian communities. Craig lives in St. John’s with his wife and three children.
