There are a few simple ways to make a gift in your will to United Way Centraide Canada, all of which will allow you to support a cause close to your heart while ensuring your loved ones are well looked after.

Charitable gifts in your will can be made through a specific sum of money, a percentage of your estate, stocks, or bonds.

Some of the most common ways to create a planned gift include:
  • Creating a “residual gift,” which means donating all or a portion of any remaining funds left over after other gifts (such as to children and grandchildren) have been given.
  • Leaving a specific percentage of your estate to United Way Centraide Canada. For example, you may choose to divide your estate into equal portions amongst your children, grandchildren, and UWCC.

To establish a gift to United Way Centraide Canada in your will, please instruct your lawyer or financial advisor to include the following statement in your will:

Clause for your will

I give to United Way Centraide of Canada – Centraide Canada, 900 - 116 Albert Street, Ottawa Ontario, K1P 5G3 the sum of $ _______________, or _____________% of the residue of my estate or my property at ____________ in the City of _____________. The disposition of my bequest is to be used by United Way Centraide of Canada –
Centraide Canada at its discretion.

We recommend engaging a lawyer to create your will to ensure it is comprehensive and legally binding.

Leave a Local Legacy
