Mona is a multilingual lawyer with over two decades of practice experience in business law with a focus on services and technology. Mona has practised in-house at leading companies, including as a director and corporate secretary of a private subsidiary of a multinational company, in private practice at leading law firms and currently as a senior lawyer with a crown corporation. Mona is completing a second term as a Trustee at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, serving as Chair, of the Human Resources, Governance and Nominating Committee and a member of the Executive Committee.
Mona is involved with community organizations including the board of the YMCA Oakville, and was previously a Director and Chair of the Policy Committee of the Alzheimer Society Peel. Mona is an active member of the South Asian Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel. Mona holds an LL.B. (Cum Laude) from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (First Class Honours) from McGill University.
