Planning your gift

How do I plan my gift?

There are a few simple ways to plan a gift in your will for United Way Centraide Canada (UWCC). Planning for the future does not require depriving your family and loved ones to accommodate charities, nor does it mean putting a strain you as you put your affairs in order.

Often, people choose to make “residual gifts.” This type of gift constitutes the balance of an individual’s wealth once his/her fixed obligations are met. For example, you could provide a determined amount of money to your children and grandchildren, and leave a percentage of the remaining funds to UWCC.

It is also possible to leave a specific percentage of your estate to UWCC. For example, you may choose to divide your estate into equal portions amongst your children and grandchildren, and donate the final portion to UWCC.
