Anita Khanna

Vice-President, Government Relations and Public Policy

Anita Khanna has worked through her career to make civic participation, services and benefits more accessible to marginalized community members. For over 15 years, she has co-led successful campaigns to improve municipal, provincial and federal social policy to reduce poverty, strengthen the nonprofit and charitable sector and build more equitable communities.

Anita is committed to building strong relationships and to working in diverse coalitions to affect change. She was previously National Coordinator, Campaign 2000: End Child and Family Poverty in Canada and Director, Social Action and Community Building at Family Service Toronto. She has also served as Executive Director of Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA) and City-Wide Organizer at Social Planning Toronto. She currently volunteers on the board of the Childcare Resource Research Unit and locally with Girl Guides Canada. Anita holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto and lives in Ottawa.
