Kim is an International Representative of the IAM Union. Kim has served in various positions within her Union over the last 36 years, including negotiations committee member, Vice-President, and Local President. Kim has also served as a Co-Chair of her Workplace Health and Safety Committee and is a certified instructor for the Workers Health and Safety Center.

In 2014, Kim became a Business Representative, then Directing Business Representative of IAM District 78 before being appointed to her current role of IAM International Representative in 2023

Kim is also the IAM representative on the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) Executive Board, and sits alongside the IAM General Vice-President on the CLC Canadian Council

Kim has served as a board member on several community organizations including the United Way of Waterloo Region, the Workforce Planning Board of Waterloo Wellington Dufferin and has been an executive member of the Cambridge and North Dumfries NDP Riding Associations.

As a lifelong resident of Cambridge ON, Kim continues to mentor IAM members from coast to coast to coast.
